About Us
EHC Associates (formerly EHC Associates, Inc) environmental consulting division was founded in 1987 by William C. Gallagher, AIA, who was a pioneer in dealing with asbestos in schools and how the new AHERA regulations impacted schools. The company began as an architectural firm in the early 1980s. However, in response to the AHERA (Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act) legislation of 1986, the company profile changed. Since few environmental service companies existed at that time, Mr. Gallagher decided to launch an environmental consulting division of EHC Associates to serve his clients and meet their environmental services needs to comply with these new government mandates.
The environmental consulting division has had great success within the industry over the years and continues to be one of the leading experts in asbestos compliance. Because of our experience, as evidenced by our company’s longevity, our expertise and exemplary performance encompass all asbestos regulations as set forth by the five governing agencies to ensure that our clients’ projects meet these regulatory standards.
After Bill Gallagher’s passing in 2005, the company was handed down to his three sons, Patrick, Edward “Ted” and Tom, and John Hartman, then Vice-President of EHC Associates. The new owners saw a void in the industry that needed to be filled, which was to provide quality abatement and remediation services performed by professional, knowledgeable personnel. Therefore, in 2005, EHC Associates created an environmental contracting division to meet our client’s abatement and remediation needs; e.h.c. (Environmental Hazards Control) was formed as a division of EHC Associates and continues to provide world-class abatement and remediation solutions throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
